The Following is an example of my review format, to better understand how each film page is broken down.

Shadow's title: What I would call the film, based on my opinion after viewing it.

Single Sentence Synopsis - Pretty self explanatory. A brief summary of the film's plot in one sentence.

Opening theme - a wav file that contains the film's opening music.

Basics – This section lists all the basics. The title of the film, the year it was originally released, its running time, the name of the company issuing the DVD release, who directed the film, who wrote the film, who starred in the film, any taglines used in the film’s promotion, any alternate titles used in this country or abroad, the content icons, an image of a movie poster used to promote the film and the date the film was reviewed.

Forward – A brief examination of the film’s history or lineage.

The Plot – A short description of the story, light on details and spoilers. Read this if you don’t want to be spoiled and skip the Walk-Thru.

Main Characters – A list of the main characters with screen captures of each.

Walk Thru – A detailed summary of the entire movie, complete with spoilers for the film's ending, so beware. Also includes a few smart-ass comments from yours truly, screen captures correlating to the walk-thru text and a few links to short video and sound clips. Read this section only if you don’t care about being spoiled. Sprinkled throughout this section are various sound and video clips taken from the film.

Review – My review of the film, which basically is just my opinion of it. Feel free to disagree.

Content Breakdown – An examination of each content icon listed for this film. See the guide here.

Movie Stats - Some usless statistics on the movie, along with Shadow's Drinking Game.

Immortal Dialog – Classic lines. Also downloadable as wav files.

Images – Several more screen captures from the film.

Video Clip – A brief clip in wmv format. Usually around a minute in length.

Don’t Forget – A list of vital lessons imparted by this film.

Shadow’s Commentary – My own MST3k style comments with the appropriate time they occur during the film along with a few more screencaps. There are a number of certain phrases which often pop up that denote specific things featured in the film:

Ask Dr. Stupid: Whenever some scientist type utters some indecipherable technobabble. Derived from The Ren and Stimpy Show.

Brown trousers alert: When there is a sudden “scare” moment, complete with musical cue, that is designed to make the viewer jump.

He's dead, Jim: Whenever anyone is presented with a dead body. Derived from Star Trek.

Pigs in Space: Whenever a flyby shot of a spaceship is shown. Derived from The Muppet Show sketch of the same name.

Somebody call PETA: Whenever violence or harm is visited upon an animal.

Spring loaded cat: Any false scare, named for the habit of having cats jump out and startle a character.

Unanswered Questions & WTF Moments – Questions the movie never got around to answering as well as short examinations of the more silly/ludicrous/idiotic aspects.

Shadow's Film Awards - Time to present the film with some of my made-up awards.

Trivia – Useless bits of info on this film.

The Final Word – Summing up the viewing experience in a few brief sentences.

Rating – The number of tombstones this film warrants. Or worse – the toilet. See the rating guide here.

My Personal History with this film – My personal experiences with this film, either as a child or as an adult. I put this near the end as I figured most people could care less about it. Sometimes, The Other Half will chime in as well.

Extras – A link to the Internet Movie Data Base and Rotten Tomatoes listings for the film, Amazon and Movies Unlimited links for those who may want to purchase the film on DVD or VHS, an image of the DVD or VHS covers, any further related links of interest and the Shadow Says box.
